Hares - Day 1

I do love an art trail!  Back in 2018, we were very lucky to have a trail of hares throughout Norwich.   

And Sam came up to Norfolk for a few days to come and see them all with me - or at least, as many as we could find as, for the first time, the art trail took place all over the county, and wasn't just confined to the city.

Now, as I haven't typed up this post until two years after the event, I cannot remember the names of most of the hares, so we'll just have to enjoy the photos instead!

Sam and I started on the trail pretty much as soon as her train rolled into the station, and for the first day we concentrated on those hares near the station and cathedral area.   This last one - again, cannot for the life of me remember the name, but clearly something to do with Norwich City - was found on the Broadland business park on the way home after we'd finished properly in the city.

We had a quick turn around at home before heading back out again to meet Shannon for dinner at the Rooftop Gardens, and we found a few more hares between parking and heading to the restaurant.

It clearly was yet another hysterical evening with much mickey taking and crying with laughter.   The best sort of evenings!

Breakfast at Shirley's

I think this may very well have been my first jaunt to Shirley's back in August 2018.   When Finn was more agile, we regularly walked from the caravan down to Severn Beach, along to Shirley's for breakfast, then back again to the caravan - invariably stopping at the pub for a cider on the way back!   It's a six-ish mile round trip in total and Finn was very happy with this distance.   As the years have passed, we walked it slightly differently - by parking at Severn Beach and walking along.  Or even parking outside Shirley's itself, and letting Finn have a bit of a run in the green area on the seafront.

This clearly was a very hot day - given the hat and our pink faces - but there are plenty of shady umbrellas to sit under in the tea gardens, and loads of water bowls for the doggy customers, of which there are loads!

Odds and Sods - October 2020

October has been a very quiet month for me.  We came back from our holiday to Cumbria at the beginning of October and, since then, it's just been about work, gardening and another lockdown!   The clocks have gone back so it's dark really early which hasn't really encouraged me to go out anyway, before lockdown hit, and now I can't go out, even if I wanted to.   Which means that my Christmas present knitting is steaming ahead for a change!   

I did at least manage to shoehorn in a cream tea and a trip to the seaside at Sheringham with Shannon before we were all confined to quarters.  And I look forward to more trips at some point in the future once we're all out of hibernation!
