Margate

As part of every day on our holiday, it was always important to get Domino walked a couple of times before we could leave him in the car to settle while Mum and I mooched about.   On the day we went to Margate, Mum sat on the prom and watched us, while we had a lovely run up and down the beach.

We'd gone to Margate as Mum had fond memories of the town from when she was a child and went on holiday on the train with Nan and Grandad down to the Kent coast.   She pointed out all the things she remembered, including the open air sea pool which she used to swim in.

Mum told me that Nan was actually on the sands at Margate when war broke out and she had to be evacuated from the beach.

Lovely to share these memories with Mum.
