Druridge Bay

We'd never heard of Druridge Bay before - but it had been mentioned to us by two different people during our holiday.  The first time by the holiday cottage owner who suggested it as a brilliant dog walking beach within ten minutes' drive of the cottage, and the second time by a lady who we spoke to in the car park at Alnwick, who gave us lots of recommendations of places to walk, chippies and ice cream parlours!   Proving once again, that we'll talk to anybody!

I should mention that this ten minute drive we were promised proved to be somewhat longer the first time we visited as we got lost!  It was well worth the driving around to get there though - eight miles of sand stretching out before us, almost deserted.  We only ever shared the beach with dog walkers, runners and oyster catchers.  Perfect.
Even Sid had a little paddle on this beach!
