This scarf has been made for ages now and on Folksy for a couple of years at least - in fact, I think this is one of the ones that came to our craft fairs all those years ago, so I'd sort of forgotten about it.
It was knitted in a strange cable pattern with two strands of wool - one a highly multi coloured one and the other navy to try and tone it down a bit. I rather like it. But I have no idea where the pattern is so I think it's pretty unlikely I'll be making another!

Dutch Ganseys
Back in September, Mum, Amanda and I headed up to Sheringham for another gansey exhibition at the Mo, the town's lifeboat museum. This time we went to look at Dutch ganseys and it's inspired me again to get knitting - I'm actually (as I type this) in the middle of making ganseys for Shannon and Tom and they should be wending their way out to New Zealand within a few weeks. I'm so tempted to keep one though! I love knitting with four ply wool now - it's so fine and the yarn I'm using - while acrylic - is so soft and washes beautifully. I need to have a gansey in my life.
These mini ganseys were fun! And, in fact, Mum and I knitted a string of twelve of them for Pam and she loves them so much, she's requested another string of them! (When I say we both knitted them, I have to give Mum credit for making the lion's share - I managed three!)
I don't think I could get tired of these fishermen's guernseys, they are so intricate with so many different patterns and all knitted in muted shades.
Oooh, pompoms!
This time, we climbed up to the observation tower in the museum to check out the views.
I actually bought a book on how to make ganseys - there is one basic jumper pattern with all the textured bits being knitted up in different stitches - instead of the one pattern I've been knitting up each time, I now have sixty-five! That should sort Christmas presents out for the next few years anyway!
