Secret Cornwall - Widemouth Bay

Our caravan site was in Widemouth Bay, one of our favourite beaches that we've visited over the years and we pretty much spent most of the week there.   We went down to the beach every evening to watch the sunset and these photos were taken on our first evening!    We literally unpacked our stuff into the caravan and then went straight to the beach.   We're so predictable!

This, I think, might have been Domino's first visit to a beach.   He was only six months old and, because of a hitch with his vaccinations, he was about four weeks behind in going out for walks than he should have been, so our jaunts had been few and far between.   He took to the beach like a duck to water!

I guess it helped that as it was so early in the year, there weren't too many people around.   He did play with other dogs though, whenever we saw any.

Knowing that Domino's life is bound to involve a lot of coastal walking over the next few years, I was very keen to get him up on to the (not very high) cliffs to try him out on coast path walking and he was doing very well, until we headed into a car park and he ran off!   We've been working on that since and have got it under control.  But I was very pleased to see that he followed the coast path very well and didn't fall off the cliffs at all!
