Back in October 2023, Shiriin planned a trip back to the UK from Nepal for her Dad's 80th birthday celebrations and suggested we go up to Snowdonia to visit Maria - a reunion that was long overdue. In fact, we think the previous time all three of us were together was fifteen years ago!
So, Shiriin caught the train up to Cambridge where I picked her up and we headed off to the wilds of Snowdonia to Maria's home - it was so much in the wilds and off the beaten track that Maria gave us rough directions and sent a photo of a tree in her front garden so that we would recognise it. We didn't!
After a restorative brew, we headed off into the wilderness for a walk and some fresh air - I always forget how far away in the west that Snowdonia is, and, of course, I'm travelling from the furthest east!
