On one of our jollies, Amanda and I popped to Cartmel. The race course wasn't hosting a race meeting that day, although there were plenty of dog walkers taking the opportunity to exercise the kids! Amanda had a good mooch around the priory while I sat outside with Finn - I'd been there a couple of years previously with Mum and Dad and had a good look around then.
Although very small, Cartmel has plenty of lovely foodie shops, so I spent ages in the cheese shop, choosing some cheese to take home to Dad. Cartmel is home to the famous sticky toffee pudding. Sadly, this particular product isn't gluten free so we couldn't get any for us, but the sticky toffee sauce IS gluten free - woohoo! - so we felt it only right to get some for our mug cakes back at the caravan. Although a product of Cartmel, the puddings and sauce are actually manufactured in a warehouse on the road where the caravan park is located, so we had to drive past it every day - needless to say, a number of visits were paid to the shop!
