Waterside Wander

On a scorching hot day back in August - a lifetime ago now as I sit here typing this with the heating on - on a weekend when Finn and I were staying with Andy at the caravan, we went out for a walk over Stanwell Moor. I wouldn't normally take Finn out during the heat of the day in the summer, but there were plenty of spots along the river where he could get in for a swim to cool down.

In fact, he spent most of the day in the drink!

It's strange to think that we've got all this space and fresh air and we're right underneath the flight path just as the 'planes are coming in to land at Heathrow. And it's fab to know it's just a ten minute walk to get out to the river from the caravan.

On the rare occasions when Finn was back on dry land, he found so much shit to roll in, that we positively encouraged him to get back in the water to wash it all off. Disgusting creature.

He spent a fair amount of time terrorising/ playing with other dogs!  And this lovely dog walking lady asked us if Finn was herding her three!  Yep!  She was very good natured about it though and they all had a lovely time together playing.

The further along our walk we reached, the more anxious I was getting as I could see cows and horses in the river, but I'm pleased to say that Finn didn't show us up and left them completely alone.

I can quite see why this lot were standing in the water - it was so hot.

A lovely day, although we obviously had to give Finn a bath when we got back as he was vile!
