Kew Gardens

At the very end of our college year in 2018, Easton College put on a field trip for the RHS Level 2 students down to Kew - it definitely felt like an end of term outing as we all boarded the coach early in the morning.  We were like very excited school children, giggling and squealing, and mainly laughing at the size of Becky's packed lunch - it was enormous!

It was a scorching hot day so we were all suntan lotioned up, with hats and cover ups - basically, just wearing our gardening gear for the day!

The long borders were stunning and we did chuckle to ourselves as we tried to remember the Latin names of all the plants!   (I had packed one of my RHS pocket books which was certainly put to good use by everyone on the coach that day.)

Oh my gourd!
This has got to be one of my favourite photos of the day - I made some lovely friends on this course.

The rose garden was beautiful, but it was such a hot summer that the grass was scorched everywhere.

Peaches modelling beside the biggest bug house we've ever seen!

This is the start of the treetop walk - only Lisa, Kim and I did this walk as the steps up were quite wobbly and put off Becky and Peaches!

Such a brilliant day and I'm rather ashamed to say that only a few of us have met up since this day - I really need to get my organising head on and plan another local garden visit for us all.
