Party Prep

So, after years of denial, I decided that I'd been in this house for seven years, never had a housewarming and, with a significant birthday looming, it was probably about time I had a bit of a party.  I only decided on the afternoon of a day in early May, while driving home from Auntie Joyce's funeral.  I'm fed up of only seeing friends and relatives on sad occasions, so decided to take matters into my own hands and stir everyone up for some jollity for a change.

Amanda had asked for all RSVPs to go to her so it would be a complete surprise to me who was turning up - although she did keep me informed of numbers so I knew how many to cater for.   It was all very exciting but, quite frankly, terrifying.  I was most nervous of the weather - my house isn't enormous, so I needed the sun to shine so everyone could sit outside.  And I spent the week beforehand cleaning, doing housework, cooking, and buying booze!

Party photos to follow in another post, but here's a few of the preparations.

My fridge has never been this full!  And, in fact, I had to sequestrate Mum and Dad's fridge too for cheeses, hams and cold meats.
I bought twenty-four bottles of prosecco to be on the safe side - and, if there was any left over, then it doesn't go off, does it?!
