July Flowers - 2015

Everything in the garden has been blooming for ages now - I think I probably say it every year, but this is the most beautiful it's ever looked.  There are so many different colours out there - I'm sure garden designers would be horrified at the colour clashes - but I think it looks like a perfect cottage garden.

I love agapanthus and am considering getting some more next year in pots which I can move around the garden.  I've recently bought some HUGE pots and am enjoying planning what to put in them - I'm thinking the obvious like daffs and tulips, but maybe some alliums too?  And I need something around the edge of them when the daffs and tulips are not around.  I need to do some more research.

The hydrangeas are all looking gorgeous, as ever.   Andy said that this one at the bottom of the garden is too big, but I like that because it means I don't have to stare at the compost heap, which is hidden behind.  It's not the most attractive feature of the garden after all!

I love this hydrangea - it's so bright - and very clashing with it's orange lily and reddy-orange crocosmia neighbours!

I have no idea what these are called but they come up in my front garden every year and are gorgeous.

The platycodon was an impulse buy recently and I've managed to kill it already.

Likewise with this - it's completely dead.  It was lovely while it lasted, but incredibly short lived here!

The lilies can always be relied on to produce the goods each summer.

And the clematis is flowering again - such a beautiful colour and the flowers are massive.  Finn does his best to try and kill this by digging it up whenever he gets a chance, but, so far, the plant is outwitting the dog!
